Dear iwrite, thank you for sharing your experiences on your journey to writing your first book. I have no experience to relate to your questions but never the less I offer my thoughts and will look forward to learning the path you choose in your dilemma.

In your blog above you write, " Before going to the retreat, I prayed and asked God to use me to write what He wanted me to share with the world."

To follow your dream you must have faith in the gift God gave you when he answered your prayer and courage to follow your dream to, " write a book from the heart that would offer hope and inspiration to those who chose to read it."

The answer you seek I think lies within your words above and within the pages of your book that have brought inspiration, admiration and hope to someone close to you already. I have been blessed and honoured with the privilege of reading, "Wounds of the Heart" and for that I thank you and encourage you to share, without alteration or hesitation, the words you have written.

I originally came over to have a sneek-n-peek, just following directions from the Wizards at WordPress. The suggestion was a top notch one insofar as "I Write" the person who wrote the opening announcement for The Daily Post and getting involved with PostaDay 2011 or PostaWeek 2011 is obviously an experienced writer and has very much to offer.

Hi again, that's awesome that you are already in the flow with your creative writing using longhand. Have you tried listening to tranquil music and doing breathing exercises like Tom suggests before writing so you have less fatigue? I'm hoping that is going to work for me at the retreat this week.

I do write longhand pretty often. I find that it lets the real me and what i want to say come out. And I don't backspace a whole page or my start or words or a sentence or add one or stop and I JUST WRITE. My hand gets tired, though, unless I'm really focuses on what I'm writing.

I've tried writing a book manuscript--several times, actually--but yet to actually finish one.
ACTUALLY... (:)) why am I using the word actually so much? ;)

Hmmm... I will be thinking about my signature. It is clear and full (both my names) and takes a long time (for signatures) to write. It's kind of like Ghandi's. Simple, and medium, not big flares or scrolls but modest.

Thanks for sharing the details... Details of the process and the steps we must take in preparation for Tom Bird's writing retreat... reminders of my role as participant in yet another adventure... Details of your excitement which resonated with me as I felt the stars lining up, announcing the time had come to birth my first book... Details of your fears and self-doubts... I, too, have fears and self-doubts, some similar to your own... Details of Tom Bird's principles, under "Setting Free the Author Within"... Reflection on these principles helps alleviate my own fears and self-doubts.
